Future of the 3 Clusters outside Manhattan (JC, BK, LIC)

If I knew, I’d be a rich real estate developer. But a maglev/hsr would be a game changer and if they were going to build one the obvious spot would be Jamaica to Manhattan. 10 miles, not that hard to build. Would make it a three minute trip to the city.

I wonder if this area by the train station near York College could support a cluster

Honestly think any land where 2 lines intersect could form a cluster at this point…

I was trying to see how the different skyscraper clusters compare and it’s tricky to figure out because most lists for NYC don’t have it broken up by borough, so I just pulled what was on Wikipedia and got this:

  • Brooklyn buildings taller than 350 ft = 59 (unknown how many btwn 300-349 ft), with 3 under construction over 350 ft
  • Jersey City buildings taller than 350 ft = 47 (and 15 btwn 300-349 ft), with 7 under construction over 350 ft
  • Queens buildings taller than 350 ft = 31 (and 11 btwn 300-349 ft), with 3 under construction over 350 ft

So that’s 137 buildings taller than 350 ft among these 3 areas. If you went back to the year 2000, that number is a total of 14.
