Merced to Madera moves forward, starting the preparations for construction. Frankly I think it’s a waste of time to go to Merced first instead of turning to SF but it’s CA law so they have too.
PPP starting. I see this being highly successful. CAHSR owns a lot of land, most of it just ROW. Hopefully they can turn this into a real money generator and help fund the project.
Big update for CAHSR: a contract to build tracks and associated infrastructure has been approved. Work is expected to start later this year, and they anticipate by late 2027 having substantial completion of much of the trackage along the currently built route.
