BOSTON | The Pinnacle at Central Wharf (270 Atlantic Ave) | 600 FT | 42 FLOORS

After years of feuding with the prior administration in City Hall, Don Chiofaro may finally have his opportunity with a new boss in the corner office. The Walsh Administration has already expressed support behind adding density to select neighborhoods in the city and, with this two-tower proposal, it looks like density may certainly be the name of the game on the Waterfront.

The project must now receive approval from the neighborhood association before going before the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Boston Redevelopment Authority for final approval hopefully sometime late this year or early 2015.

Damn that’s a good looking tower, and in a perfectly prominent spot. Reminds me of the original design for New York’s 35 Hudson Yards, with some more traditionally Art Deco proportions.

a great addition to the skyline, i always felt like Boston’s skyline has too many midcentury boxes

This has a similar effect on the Boston skyline as 120 Wall St. KPF seems to save the best NYC designs for outside of NYC.
