Love how that Coruscant was inspired by Metropolis, which was inspired by NYC. Now NYC is starting to look like Coruscant
it missed only flying cars !

Art Deco was a big influence on the set design for the Star Wars prequels. That probably helps a bit too.
perhaps in the future they could regulate lanes in the sky above the city for autonomous drones and VTOLs for human and cargo use. Dozens of these drones in the sky in a lane would give the same effect as those sci fi cities
Which reminds me, we should definitely have a New York Metropolitan Future Skyline thread
Good idea ! For flying car, some company have now prototype and in the near future in big cities over the world you can see this famous cars !

look at all of that new density south of the Empire State Building. Love to see it.

Same here. The large gap between midtown and downtown Manhattan always bothered me.
What about West Midtown north of Hudson Yards? It is so ugly. It is a total drop-off of height.
You mean hells kitchen, its a low rise area and I kinda dig it being low, on sunny days its a nice area to walk around.
The buildings on those side streets need a good cleaning, but they are gorgeous, old buildings with loads of details.
Pic by me. From Washington Rock State Park. About 29 to 32 miles from NYC. Can see it on the left hand side.

Another one from the same park. This time, you can see New Brunswick. One of those cases where in person, its apparent, but around mid-center to mid-right, you can see the cluster. Two lone high rises, right by Exit 9 on the NJ turnpike. The highway in the foreground, is Route-22 which leads to Newark/Union. Verrazzano-Narrows, the two 600+ ft bridge-span towers, were also visible (more on the left hand side outside of the shot).
