I drove by here yesterday and can confirm they’ve started digging the foundation. While this is a great location due to its proximity to the railway station and downtown, it’s not great in other ways. It’s right next to the Metro North Stamford Yard (where some diesel trains are stored), and only a block from I-95. I wonder if noise will be a factor.
And the new low-rise building behind this one, the Hazel (44 John Street), has commenced leasing, with apartments starting to become available in September and October:
Unfortunately folks moving into the Hazel will have to deal with construction noise for the foreseeable future.
