Skyscrapers and skylines in popular culture (Cite your sources)

From Episode 1 of Penguin, Gotham city skyline looks quite familiar  (sorry for bad quality, HBO has screenshot protection in browser)

They tried to disguise Hudson Yards with a bunch of CGI spires and a twin spire on the ESB, but the midtown skyscrapers are too recognizable. Judging from the progress on 270 Park, this backdrop was from ~June 2024, from North Williamsburg.

Also, at the end of the episode they use another NYC skyline shot, this time of downtown Manhattan, where the double/quad-spired tower has teleported from the ESB location to 50 West Street. 1 WTC has been painted out but Jersey City is clearly visibly including even the under construction One Journal Square.

Spiderman teaser from 2001. The whole robbery scene on this teaser was only shot for the teaser. Never intended to be in the movie, unfortunately. Plus you can tell the rooftop shot is in a different city lol

Delta City model from Robocop 2. The tower with the sharp top is directly inspired by the Bank of the Southwest Tower

Billionaires Row, Hudson Yards, and One WTC are erased from that aerial shot. Yet you can see 53W53, 262 Fifth Ave and 520 Fifth Ave
