This development will consist of a 1,500 seater conference centre, apartments, a 5 star hotel, offices and retail at ground level. The current site holds NCTs main bus depot along with a few retail units of which most have closed down. NCT are planning on moving their main depot a few miles out from the city centre to a site in Sneinton which they have already purchased. The current site, along with two other smaller sites, which hold NTCs buses, have been sold to Henry Boot in a £50million deal.

Nottingham City Council are said to have ‘deep pockets’ compared with other councils across the country, of which they buy up sites and co develop with other developers. This has happened previously for Eons 105,000Sqft Head Quarters in the city back in 2011/2012, after realising this was a success, they are now using this strategy going forward to boost the city ahead of the competition.

The proposal is based opposite Nottinghams Ice arena which contains 2 large rinks which hosts many sporting and leisure events. The site is also opposite the upcoming Eastside of which the first 80,000sqft office block is currently under way.

It appears that there will be 2 towers, one of which may reach up to roughly 80-90m tall.

I discovered the render on a document which Nottingham City Council soon took down, which also revealed a few other projects in the pipeline.

The current site is to the left of this photo which I took back on Monday of the latest 80,000Sqft addition to the Bio City office, as seen in the thread below:
