So many amazing photos! Thanks for sharing

Those are nice shots.

I noticed the lighting on the front of 3 WTC is now broken. Only the back side’s turned on in your nighttime photos and the top strip is still broken on 4 WTC. The maintenance of these buildings is exceptionally atrocious.

Are we sure that the lighting doesnt just turn off at a certain time at night? Because in the first few of TK’s photos the lighting on the bracing is on on the backside as you mentioned, but on the later ones it’s turned off. I don’t think they are broken, seems like they’re just on a schedule. They turn off at either 10 or 11PM.

Yup, my last photo I captured with the lights on was at 10:34 PM. My first photo I captured with the lights off was at 12:35. I remember looking at the site at the time thinking “where are the lights” yet many buildings turn their lights off between 10-12

Randomly found this while researching, projections of the whole site construction possibly from 2009

Starting early next year, the little parklet on 5WTC’s footprint will close and fencing will spill out onto the three surrounding streets, with scaffolding along Liberty Park as well to protect pedestrians from potential debris. It will be interesting to see how the trees are dodged, especially the Anne Frank tree, but I think construction surrounding the High Line provides good precedent.

2WTC meanwhile will likely have a painted asphalt plaza on the western portion of its block to complement its eastern plaza with the beer garden. I expect the normal rectangular planters to act as bollards, will probably be a hot spot for food carts as people queue up to see shows or exit the 1 train across the street.

It’ll probably be this way for the better half of this decade unless Larry brings back the hustle.

Hopefully they put enough netting on the tower itself when its rising, so the materials don’t fall and splatter on St. Nicholas

The chances of that happening are very slim. Material would have to be forcefully ejected horizontally (not just free fall vertically) to make it to the church’s vicinity.

But speaking on the enclosure, there probably wont be a shed on the southern border covering the vegetation, the shed will probably be along the general walkway that the Anne Frank tree is on and a plywood fence will likely obscure it from view as well as anything else north of the waywalk. The stair along that side will also probably be closed for the duration of construction.

The more I see it the more it kinda grows on me. It’s been said many a times but of course I would still prefer the diamond design

I’ve loved that shot ever since I took it four years ago, and always wanted to see Two WTC in the shot. Once again, great work! Also love how 5 WTC pops in the light, shows what KPF can do. Reminds me of Arthaus

The spiral effect is really prominent in these pics!

Overall this looks very good. I just wish One WTC was built a little bit higher because 2 WTC will take maybe too much away from its dominance over Lower Manhattan.

some might call that twin dominance intentional…

I’m in the camp that likes this design best of those floated so far, but what bothers me the most is that the parapet is just a little bit higher than 1 WTC. It’s counter to the master plan of all the buildings gradually rising. Whatever it would take to make this building just 5 feet less that 1WTC, I wish they’d do that.

Maybe 6’ less since One WTC to the roof is the same height as the original (1368’). Symbolically 2WTC should be 1362’.

One WTC actually already intentionally displays both 1368’ and 1362’ figures on the tower through the depth of the silver trim at the top.

If 200 Greenwich was actually 1362 instead of the planned 1348 it would look even taller than it already does, the only reason being is that it is about 20’ higher in elevation than the base of One WTC.
