Interesting World Trade Center concepts

This is my concept;

This new iteration of Ground Zero rebuilds the Twin Towers, with improvements:

  1. Carbon Fiber structure, enhancing for new economies of lightweight construction, and flexibility where needed.
  2. Bubble Deck Concrete, permitting less weight to be exerted on each carbon fiber beam, and saving money.
  3. Carbon Fiber elevator cables, allowing for new heights to be reached on a single ride, instead of changing cabs.
  4. Inset LED lighting system on the exterior support columns of the towers, providing lighting for events and concerts.
  5. Built-in sound system on the exterior of each building, bearing sound transmission from the offices to the plaza.
  6. Inset video displays in new assembly chambers on each level, allowing office workers to watch games and concerts.
  7. Inset sound systems in new assembly chambers on each level, allowing office workers to hear respective audio.
  8. More doors built between the Twin Towers and outside, and escalators leading to various sections of the complex
  9. A two-station concept for the PATH trains, and the reconstruction of the West Side Highway to assist in traffic.

With the 20th anniversary coming up soon I hope to hear something more about 2 wtc. Also pretty crazy that we may still be looking at around 7-10 more years of construction at the site

Too many years wasted on bloated budgets for a value engineered cluster of mismatched towers. Don’t get me wrong, these buildings are beautiful ….anywhere else. Tower 1 does a decent job of standing as a replacement to the North Tower but the rest of the complex is meh aside from the beautiful memorial/museum).

I doubt 2 WTC will be spectacular at this point.

The complex probably would have been finished a decade ago if they rebuilt what most New Yorkers wanted, the Twins back. Yes many of us loathed them at one point or another but they were ours to loath. Oh well.

I was literally in the middle of it that day. The lives lost will never be forgotten.

New York bounced back stronger and better than ever. This is a city like no other.

You’ve got that right, Bob. The lives lost will never be forgotten.

And the most powerful city in the most powerful country is better than ever.

Curious it seems as though they are restricting access to the memorial again. Any ideas why that might be?

One day I hope a supertall (*megatall, but I’ll leave the mistake) comes to Manhattan (or NYC in general lol)

I assume you mean megatall.

rip me. Yeah I mean megatall, not supertall.

“ A monumental sculpture called XO World and intended to celebrate World Peace Day (Sept. 21) has been installed at the World Trade Center, and its companion piece, XO Play, is inside at the Oculus. The work is part of a project called “Share the Love” created by artist Daniel Anderson and in this case, funded by Anita Durst of the Durst Organization and her organization Chashama, which partners with property owners to transform unused real estate into gallery and studio spaces for artists.”

“XO World will be on display for a minimum of two years and XO Play will travel to other venues throughout Manhattan.”
