New York v.s. Chicago
Megatall for New York
I can wait…
may 245 Park Ave. be destroyed in the next few years.
Good site…
245 Park Ave will not be demolished in the near foreseeable future, otherwise SLGreen would not be going through with a nearly $200 million capital improvement plan for the building. So next few years is out of the question entirely, if it’s demolished, it will probably be demolished in around 1-2 decades.
…
Source?
- Roosevelt Site
270 Park Ave.
350 Park Ave
Fifth Ave Supertalls
And in the distance
Pabt Site. up to 1500 feet
ESC or Penn District. 1400 feet
Hudson Yards Phase Two + Casino
What does this have to do with this thread?
A see the next supertall
Up to 1500 feet ??
Oh wow! So they’re actually planning to demolish it? Interesting
@TKDV apologies for pinging you, but is that article trustworthy?
No worries, I wouldn’t see any particular reason that it would be untrue if, even though it’s coming from a secondary source, it’s coming directly from the Pakistani government since they technically own the hotel through PIA.
But since this is technically new news, I would request @Mackensen to open the 45E 45th St thread again but would hope people aren’t throwing around jargon and grandeur posts to make the thread be closed again.
Like references to a certain egyptian pharaoh? Yeah, thems get annoying.
Does this have to be in Manhattan or the whole city, maybe the metro area?
The initial thread comment says it can be anywhere!
There was once a proposal for a supertall at the southern tip of Lower Manhattan that was designed to look like a lighthouse, but I can’t seem to find it now. I think that would still be ultra cool, to have a supertall acting as a lighthouse for the island of Manhattan.
Edit: found it! Wish this had been built so badly
Mill river tower ~400 feet tall
I like it very much…
No, 45 E 45th St cannot support the size of the building, its over 700K sqft too big.
