I don’t know about you guys but I am definitely seeing more crowded streets again, from two months to now it’s crazy. The city is coming back to what it was before. I can’t wait for the Spring and Summer months…

Yes the crowds are building. I think this summer may feel like one of the best ones in years.

I’m still mostly remote but did return to the office this past week and I definitely noticed the streets are more crowded. The subway is also getting even more crowded during rush hours compared to this time last year.

Very few large companies are fully remote now. A lot of the holdouts went hybrid in March or have plans for April, even tech. It’s nice to see midtown not so desolate anymore but grand central is once again a nightmare at rush hour. I had forgotten how insanely crowded it gets and was blown away going through there last week…
And the lunch lines at the food courts in midtown and FiDi are noticeably longer.

Some underground explosion in Times Square.

Gas line you think?

probably overpressurized steam, its a known hazard in Manhattan. Happens every now and then, sometimes deadly. Although normally there is a spectacular cloud of steam associated with them. Maybe this one was localized underground.
