NEW YORK | Various News About Our City and Q&A

Harborside is it’s own complex/ waterfront neighborhood that is located near Newport. There is definitely enough office space. Mack-Cali also has a giant office tower planned on one of its parking lots. So plenty of potential!

Hey guys, do we have a thread dedicated to NYC underground? You know, things like East Side Access, the underground of the New Penn renovation, Gateway, One Vanderbilt underground and 175 Park underground. And smaller stuff too like passageways to transit locations, subway openings and access to ESA in new buildings like 415 Madison avenue, 343 Madison Avenue, etc. doesn’t have to be specifically transit related either. If we don’t should we make one? I for one love the underground of NYC and it would be an interesting topic to discuss.

btw do you guys ever think Disney will bring a theme park to NYC?
Personally, I doubt it. The high prices of land, limited availability of land (A Disney theme park is easily half the size of Queens, if not larger), and high variability of year round weather as opposed to California and Flordia would stop it. Would be fun to have one close by though.

Just a thought I had after reading this.

It’ll be cool to see what they do with it, being vertical and all.

Finally and much needed!

Netflix is also planning a major production hub in New Jersey. Seems like Hollywood is coming to East Coast.

Side note. I wonder if anyone actually pays for NYT’s articles? It takes me 5 seconds to put in their title and find several other articles with the exact same information, for free.

Oh my bad, I didn’t see that there was a paywall to see the document. Very true though.

not surprising obviously.

The orange “housing opportunity areas” are all pretty much made up of mediocre run down junk. Still seems like a small amount of space for 3,500 new apartments per average NYC development!
