You can’t expect protesters camping out in the streets to play follow the leader like obedient children. They’re fed up and they’re putting their own bodies on the line. These sorts of protest settlements usually end in the military or police quashing them. Look at the Bonus Army, Tienanmen Square, Occupy Wall Street, the Dakota Access Pipeline, CHOP etc.

I really don’t mean to be alarmist posting so frequently about this, but the stats are a bit scary. There’s always an uptick in violence this time of year but there is a mess of factors, mostly related to how covid is straining the justice system, making it much worse right now. Stay safe, everyone.

a tropical storm has formed off the Midatlantic Coast and the NHC is currently forecasting it to move into the NYC Metro Area this weekend.

NHC has it heading right up the bay and the Hudson River. That ought to make for some cool pictures. No hurricane so no “eye” but you’d still get to see some cool circulation.
edit: here’s the outer band of the storm hittting Manhattan. It went out west afterward. The center of the storm actually just passed barely west of the city.
looks like it will head directly over sparsely populated Harriman. It should be weakening significantly as it has been over land for quite some time.

Crazy how often we change our plates here. NJ and CT are so bland and never change. I liked the 2000s white and blue better than the 2010s orange and blue or this new 2020s white and blue

I think Cali’s is the best… simple, not busy, some flair (and a tinge of elegance, might I say) with the oblique cursive…

I don’t have front plates on my cars. No way I’m drilling holes to have a yellow plate in the front. Nice thing is cops could care less.

That’s an ugly plate. I like how “Excelsior” represents whatever exists up there between NYC and Buffalo. How do you get to Niagara Falls? Take the I-87 through excelsior and then about 7 hours later you’re there.
