probably around half way up the lattice boom of that yellow crane.
i dont know concrete super well, but im going to say 3-4 weeks per floor down at the bottom - somewhere between columbus day and veterans day is my guess.

ok! thank you for your reply!
What will be interesting to see as this rises will be the stark contrast of the old and the new! Those 3 classic buildings are going to have a new neighbor that’s 900+ ft taller than itself ![]()
These AI generated images are so bad and inaccurate they should be taken down. Please do not spam our message boards.
It’s not accurate to say these images are just “bad AI spam.” They were shared to illustrate the project and contribute to the discussion. Whether or not AI was involved, they serve a purpose: to visualize and communicate ideas. Instead of dismissing them outright, it might be more constructive to evaluate their content and relevance to the project.
Ok then, per your request, the content is garbage and the relevance to the project is nonexistent. Not really worth much more evaluation or discussion!
Well the last shot for sure is an inaccurate location, it’s located on an AI Lower Manhattan there. AI generated images should not be on this website
let’s evaluate the content then
the building shown is not the building designed. the proportions are wrong. the locations are wrong. the images are completely out of context and serve no purpose.
can we add drawings from my 5 year old nephew? he is good at finger painting and has a great idea for the empire state building if it were 8000 feet and set in london.
…you see what i mean? it’s a pointless exercise.
it also looks like shit
I think it was pretty obvious that what was presented was just a general idea of the project, not a final design or construction drawing. I honestly don’t understand why so much fuss was made about it, since the intention was simply to share an initial concept to convey the overall vision.
I can’t really speak for anyone else and I get your perspective, but most posts here are serious and a lot of people have an eye for detail. If those images were close to reality I don’t think you would’ve gotten much push back, but they were so off (not even close to realistic, and obviously AI/not drawn by you) that it almost feels like misinformation. People are increasingly sensitive to AI patterns and cadence and it disturbs people when ‘art’ or any content feels phony and/or lazy.
You can share AI stuff, but make it a single preview shot with a link to another page…and state up front that you used machine learning tool to make it.
Your inclusion of the tower from Phily gave it away
nice
I thought the Burj Khalifa would give it away
Don’t despair Fernando…
I too post random general information/renderings/comments like this all the time: I believe the general approach to these forums is “crowed sourcing”. The overall aggregate of information - be it false, inaccurate, whatever - is a net positive for this forum.
I know there are differing opinions; so I simply accept whatever mods delete from my wild “spitballing” posts. ![]()
That being said, I enjoyed seeing your post: the graphics were fun, fanciful and totally on topic.
Also, I am impressed with the fact that you are a ‘Civil Engineer’ - your contributions to a this forum would most likely be greatly informed, educated and of high value to the readership.
Thanks for your input; hope you are not to discouraged. ![]()
This is a modern art masterpiece compared to the DOB renderings at some sites lol which were made in 5 seconds using the rectangle function in MS Paint.
I like One Libery Place. ![]()
Thank you so much for your words! I really appreciate it.
I try to contribute when I can, and it’s encouraging to hear that my posts and graphics are appreciated. Being a Civil Engineer, I always aim to share useful and informed insights, so your feedback means a lot.
I also continue to follow the Yimby forum with great interest, first because New York is my favorite city in the world, and of course, because the most impressive and complete buildings and projects are developed there.
Can’t wait to see how far this one will get in the next few months! Is there to be a cantilever over the old buildings, or is that some sort of temporary deck/scaffolding above them (to protect from debris)? ![]()
The entire building massing is setback in a notch around the existing holdouts, it’s shaped like a disproportionate C. The scaffolding is just there to protect the holdouts as is normally required for any buildings being built against adjacent buildings.
