not seamless (literally), but I suppose nothing’s perfect
Awesome! I can’t get over this facade
Great Pics
My new number one of the most beautiful New York Skyscraper since … .
One could build a twin tower (which Skydeck)
YIMHudson–The seams may well be intentional. They don’t appear to be cracks but rounded lines where the pieces fit together. That would make a significant difference as the facade gets installed.
I think you are referring to the ‘seams’ where the top/bottom of each curtain wall panel is joined to the panel above and below: those will be the only visible “seams”.
This type of prefabricated ‘panel’ assembly of the curtain wall can not be done without some seams; as you say - nothing is perfect.
There is great efficiency in using that panel system, compared to the way limestone slabs are fixed to a building’s facade, this curtain wall is going up fast.
This thing is just going to get better and better. It’s the arrow that’s going to point us into 2021.
Michael Stern deserves a medal.
My friend is becoming an architect and designer and I’m making sure when he designs building they’ll like sterns. I’m in school right now to be a project manger in construction engineering, probably start my own business.
Keep up the good work!
I posted some pictures of the facade on Facebook and half a dozen of my friends wrote comments saying it was the ugliest facade they had ever seen. Didn’t get a single positive comment LOL.
Haters gonna hate
