September it is! Came across this on Facebook.

Just when I ask I get my answer. Awesome!

I really hope that awful disgusting rainbow-colored ā€œbeer gardenā€ is finally down by September. What a mockery of the WTC site that thing is making, especially compared to this amazing building.

The Beer Garden has absolutely no connection to the Performing Arts Center, what would make you assume it’s closing just because the PAC is opening?

The Beer Garden is operated as a part of the Oculus and the Westfield Mall. Even if the Beer Garden were to close (which it’s not) the ā€œdisgusting rainbow-coloredā€ visuals wouldn’t disappear because they aren’t related to the Beer Garden either. What a backwards view.

I’m not assuming it’s closing just because of the Perelman opening. I just hoping it happens by coincidence because I don’t want it in the pictures messing up the views of this building.

I just said what you portray as the ā€œdisgusting rainbow-coloredā€ visuals have no relation to the Beer Garden, that is an art installation to cover up 2 WTC and the Mall’s mechanical system, its not going away if the Beer Garden closes and it’s not going away any time soon, thats irrelevant. If you dont want it in pictures take a picture of the PAC from the other direction, there’s literally so many perspectives to take pictures of this building without 2 WTC in frame…

He can’t take pictures of it because he clearly does not live here, or anywhere nearby.

What’s your point?

Just a few panels more…

Nice capture of the bollards :+1: I love how the entrance looks just like a complete void to another dimension lol, I hope that changes when there is some lighting coming from the lobby. I think they were waiting for more granite panels to be delivered and more (or possibly the rest) came yesterday.

It definitely looks like the east sidewalk is ready for paver installation.

I couldn’t capture it, but you can see this lighting features :point_down:from the street level; they look really cool and ā€œorganicā€ compared to the austere (in a good way) exterior.

I think one of your earlier photos from the opposite direction showed them nicely/or somewhat visible. I’m just wondering if they are all on/installed and that the black void is how it will look, its kind of scary lol.

I think it would’ve been nice if there was a long led strip lining the interior corner of the ceiling lip.

Somebody posted this image long time ago, I still think it applies.

They’ve started paving the sidewalk closest to One WTC, but it’s at an odd angle and its slightly difficult to discern if that angle is parallel to the angle the PAC is on or if it’s an arbitrary angle, which would also be odd.

They also added a long stretch of bollards and there seems to be about 6-7 more to meet up the ones placed at the middle (those visible in Alemel’s recent photo)

I’m starting to wondering if that long narrow rectangle of concrete that was poured weeks ago is just a long bench.

I noticed that too. The recent video on the Perelman seems to confirm the existence of two bench seating areas on either side of some stairs

Interesting, aside from the benches, I wonder where those stairs between them lead to, the subway/PATH?

I got some info:

  • the long rectangle is indeed a wall, I believe it will double up as a sitting area (although it get a bit high on the opposite end from the memorial)

  • this is the best pic I was able to get from the interior lights, before the guard told me to stop

-They haven’t started with the paving yet - I think the pavers are on the WTC2 site waiting to be installed

The paving I was refering to in my post was just of the sidewalk portion, not the plaza portion :+1:
