Any bets on when we will see the first piece of granite installed!
Too far away to make any reasonable guess, but I’d bet spring 2020, maybe April or May?
at least 14 months from now
When this is complete, I wonder if it will be a massive rival to the Shed? Two massive developments fighting over the best and attractive Performing Arts Center.
I already thought about it, Hudson Yards came to compete with the World Trade Center in various segments.
I’m more excited for when the Perelman opens than the shed.
From the literature I’ve seen, Perelman will have a very “classic” programming schedule with the likes of Public Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the opera, shakespeare plays, etc.
Shed seems to tend towards weird new experimental performance art type stuff and new shows
I didn’t even realize that was a gigantic girder being assembled! Reminds me of the days when they started installing the main columns and girders of the PATH train hall all those years ago.
Not sure if this was posted previously (probably), but please check out this link:
There are 36 renderings, including of the interior. But these will help make sense of the footprint and the construction since it’s really tricky to get your head around from just the ground and overhead views we see now.
