NEW YORK | Penn Station Expansion/Improvements

I think I heard somewhere that there’s a moratorium on building new landfill in the Hudson due to the effects on the ecosystem. If there’s an article i’ll try to dig it up.

Steve Roth is nuts. That stupid awning does not detract from the fact that this is a vile, filthy, disgusting area with drugged-out homeless zombies who frequent the nearby meth clinic.

But now with this awning, they’ll be DRY meth zombies if it rains. Think of the improvements! lol

Doesn’t help that the addition looks like the kind of structure they use when building a temporary airport terminal.

Dolan, the Moron, should focus on replacing the worst arena in professional sports.

Dolan needs to sell the team; he’s the worst owner in Sports. He won’t though, because its a giant cash register partly subsidized by the state and city and he’s a “I-was-born-on-third-base-so-I-must-have-hit-a-triple” kind of guy.

If I were a die-hard Knicks fan - which I was until the late 90’s - I would be getting my voice out on social media and holding up signs at any games I got free tickets to that Dolan needs to sell the team. Good players will continue to shun the Knicks as long as they have the Dolan-derived culture of mediocrity.

I’ve been a Nets fan since they moved to Brooklyn and while I’d like to see the Knicks be a good team, the past 10 years schadenfreude has taken hold and I smile whenever Dolan gets bad news.

(Put this on this page because i couldn’t find one for 1 Penn)
Is there any info on what’s going on here? If you look at the first pic, you can see a shift in facade color on the side with all the rigs… is this a minor recladding? or has it always been that way

I’m tired of all these cheap ass billionaires who are nothing but greedy.

This is literally one of the most risk free plots of land that you could build on and this is what they come up with???

This is real estate greed at its absolute worst. Pure and simple.

The latest plan:

NYS Penn Station Powerpoint

Slide 81 sums it up nicely:

they will “acquire and re-purpose” the block south of Penn
so that that parasite donald can continue to leech off the city and all of us new yorkers??

while our intrepid elected officials will use eminent domain to displace (what looks like tens of small businesses, mom and pop shops and apartment buildings) and add DECADES to the project timeline all because of cronyism and corruption

well done gobement :+1:

I wish they would tear down everything in red and start completely new.

But my bet is that the Hudson Yards developers are in these politicians pocket and would stop some world class development because it’s too close to their HY investment.

Those evil, rich Hundson Yards developers…poor MSG developers can’t catch up with all the bribin’…therefore stuck living in the 1970’s Cairo…‘the horror’ :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

The Worst Arena in sports must come down.

This project is an easy sell to the public yet it keeps getting delayed.

Someone is paying someone not to tear down MSG.

I feel like I’m gonna get flamed for this. But what’s everyones gripe with MSG? If I were a New Yorker I’d know but I’m over 80 miles away

it’s dated, it has a small capacity (20,000) and it sits on prime real estate for a new grand station.

Wow, I’ve been to Phillies games with more people than that. That’s nuts
