I’m disgusted. The PABT should come down, but it won’t.

So true. And unfortunately the mainlines of both parties perpetuate this so there is no hope of change.

Edit: also notice how PANYNJ is on top of their game as far as spending billions renovating airports for the tourists, but yet they slack off with PATH and bus commuter quality for the locals. And of course New York State is in a whole nother league of negligence with penn station (although Moynihan is a start)

Anybody knows what there doing this??

Nothing. The PA doesn’t have the money to replace it, and no one could agree on a new location. A new one should be built in Seacaucus. This does not belong in Midtown Manhattan.

Not taking advantage of this no interest financing would be an utter travesty.

Hope it happens, that one rendering almost makes traveling by bus seem glamours… jk but it is a vast improvement!

could be almost as nice as a new bus terminal in eastern Poland

When are they going to show the actual whole renderings??

just an overview at this time it looks like. Maybe if somebody has a good memory they could match it with one of the competition proposals.

That’s the competition finalists website. The closest is the Perkins Eastman proposal I think. But all the finalists propose a new terminal built elsewhere with buildings over the old one but connected in different ways.

is the reason it’s being renamed the Midtown Bus Terminal to avoid confusion with the other Port Authority-owned bus station at George Washington Bridge?

Maybe they’re just desperate for a rebrand, since “Port Authority” has become synonymous with hell on Earth.
