It says a lot about where our economy is heading when the value of the pound reached around 1.5 from the usual 1.43 as investors believed we would remain, as soon as the news was that we are to leave, it drops to around 1.35
This makes the idea of moving over to the US ever more tempting now!

What scares me is that if Britain voted out, the possibility of trump winning the US election becomes possible, almost likely. I am waiting for the implications on the US stock market, but we could see a large dip in the stock market.
what is interesting is the anti trump crowd is using the same scare tactics that the Stay campaign tried to use and failed. Don’t want to be political(not the place for it), but I wont be voting this time around as I think both candidates are equally bad. I would not want to say I voted for either.

totally agree, they definitely need to change their tactics in order to defeat trump
Before the Orlando massacre, it appeared that Republicans had largely acquiesced to Trump’s nomination. In the aftermath, I don’t believe that’s still true. Moreover, Trump is way behind on fundraising and has no real campaign structure. I would not be surprised if he’s not the nominee.
I think Brexit will further galvanize opposition to Trump, as the power of fringe voters has been demonstrated loud and clear.
That being said, I think that the EU, in its current form (and the Euro), was never really viable. Europe is far too diverse to be governed by one set of rules.

this alone will not send the world into a recession. Maybe if the entire EU collapsed as a result of this. What we are seeing is a knee jerk reaction in the markets. The problem is the remain decided to go with the end of the world scenario if they left so many people expect the end of the world so they are reacting.
I see no reason UK and not be the South Korea of Europe.
And the UK does not have its only land border double as a demilitarized zone.

He summed up most of my thoughts. So while currently the UK does most of their trade with the EU, if they played hardball and dont give them a good deal the US will happily tie our economies even closer together and step in an fill the void.
