Maybe they will take it down one day with enough negative feedback, they will just have to modify the stair supports to the High Line since it looks attached to one of the billboard posts.
I think some little art sculptures like the ones placed along the highline wouldve been better.
They wanted to make a statement. ![]()
Trippy!
The public plaza is complete and open to the public.
The curvy benches, the paving & stone trim around the plants, the landscaping; all look great.
Question - Why did the chicken cross the road?
Answer - To get to the other side! ![]()
Is retail going in that plaza under the highline? Or something else?
GReat photo set by Alemel. Awsome contributor as usual.
I will share some of my recently taken rare photos; to be ‘on-brand’ - as usual. ![]()
Here are a few exclusive photos from across the street. I do mean ‘rare’ as gaining access to that empty lot is not easy. Don’t ask. ![]()
BTW. I now have over 50 posts on this topic. Click on my infoshare tag above to see all my other photos/comments/links.
they should turn this into more public space
I’m wondering about the graffiti factor.
I am wondering about the “rough sleeper” factor; as they say in the UK. Those curvy wood benches with the high backs AND natural ventilation will make for the perfect outdoor homeless encampment: oh, I mean “rough sleeper” encampment. ![]()
There are now a few homeless living in the empty site accross the street: that’s how I got access to take these photos - there is a small opening in the wood fence.
The “graffti factor” on this site accross the street is major; perhaps a harbinger for things to come accross the way at the One High Line Public Park.
Behind roughly half the Faena graphics covering the windows is a dining room for the La Boca restaurant. I’m not sure why the windows are still covered, as the restaurant appears to be operating (cave-like). The other half of the graphics cover unfinished retail space.
