I wonder why they declined to mention where “Parish House” is geographically located.
Metro North will soon start to serve Albany, providing competition with Amtrak and supplementing reduced service due to the East River Tunnel repairs.
It’s just one round trip a day using tired coaches that were built in 1983, with limited leg room and no onboard café car. I’m not sure how much of a competition it is for Amtrak. Maybe the fares will be cheaper?
They will have cheaper, fixed-rate fares.
The transit agency hasn’t yet set an exact cost for the trip, but expects it to be similar to the lower end of Amtrak’s one-way tickets from New York City to Albany — which are $38.
Hochul’s office said the fares for the new Metro-North service will be fixed, unlike Amtrak’s trains, which have variable prices that can exceed $100 on some trips.
will it be eligible for combo ticket?
Combo Ticket for LIRR and Metro-North Railroad
if so, one-way from Grand Central to Rensselaer will be $38, but one-way from Jamaica to Rensselaer only $13
Great idea called “move-In NY” .
This is ‘modular’ approach to home building is a good policy initiative by Katy Hochul. Take a look at these homes currently being built: simple designs, efficient construction, and all with the goal of ‘affordability’.
The manufactured home approach makes home building faster to completion and at about half the price. Nice. ![]()
Excerpt from posted article -
The homes took six months to complete and cost approximately $250,000 to build and install — which is up to three times faster and nearly half the cost of comparably sized homes built using traditional construction methods. The homes will be sold for less than the cost of construction to low and moderate income homebuyers. End Quote.
i live by here, i miss the movie theater ![]()

This one will make a nice corner.
