I didn’t realize it before, but it seems like there are still some temporary dome panels that have yet to be replaced (the lighter more even toned panels with what appears to be 4 stickers on the corners), I wonder if they will ever be replaced.
Yes, it is harrowing, but the artist and church thought it important to use imagery from that day and combine scenery of nyc with religious imagery to make the church represent more than just a religious building.
I posted a link a few weeks ago that describes every piece of iconography and all the symbolisms in them from the church website.
They may just be waiting for all the stuff on the street to be removed even though the stairs aren’t really in the way of it, probably just being precautionary.
Annnd it’s all gone (the majority of it lol) they just need to repaint the street lines. So now only the street level entrance, the north staircase, and the little area to the south need to be finished and cleaned up and it’s all finished.
Gotta love when EarthCam releases their timelapses.
The north staircase is also finally open for use, the lights just need to be fixed because they are constantly blinking on and off. The finish line is almost is sight for all of Liberty Park, that is until 5 WTC starts construction.
Oof, well atleast there’s also a door on the opposite side even if not the same in appearance lol. I think it will look better once the bollards have their covers installed. Thanks for the snaps!
Afaik, the FCS is where all the fire alarm (fire/emergency related in general)communications occur and switch boards are located as a sort of post for those in charge of the safety of the buildings and firefighters. Such command centers were located in the lobbies of each of the former twin towers. It’s questionable what this particular station oversees, unless its overseeing all operations of the entire complex, I’d assume it’s perview is Liberty Park, the church, and the VSC.
