T6’s main oculus has now been installed!
Probably common knowledge at this point but…avoid the Ride Share at all costs and go to the taxi stand instead (which I usually do but was traveling for work and tried to take a Lyft. The wait at Terminal 7 was interminable last night!!
Old render, probably from late 2020/early 2021. Before T4 and the GTC got chopped up, but after T1’s design started shifting to accommodate the existing airtrain station.

Phillipine Airlines announced they are going to take residence at the New Terminal 1.
Well, not complaining! Also, imagine if JetBlue went bust and United just took over the JFK operation at T5/6, acquiring a ready-made hub facility (similar to EWR when they bought Continental). It’s unlikely, but it’d be pretty cool for the big 3 to all have mega-complexes at JFK.
Well hey, that was the plan pre-JetBlue! Speaking of T5, JetBlue, Fraport and the PA are planning a renovation program. Details are still pretty scarce but it looks to be a T8-esque concessions and interior refresh.
Taken from the JFKR advisory council meeting summary
Here’s the entire list of what’s going on from that summary which does indicate it’ll be an interior renovation. It makes sense considering Terminal 5 was opened in 2008. It’s already close to 20 years old, being only a couple years newer than T8 and T4 which both were refreshed, so a refresh does make sense given the entire airport’s being renovated.
I also found these “entire-JFK” renders on Grimshaw Architects’ page since that company is involved in the JFK master plan.
Lots of good photos from T1 here. Inside JFK's new Terminal One, a massive $9.5 billion flagship terminal - The Points Guy
Great update - T1 is looking great. That last shot shows what appears to be the piers the jetbridges are attached to which explains why it probably isn’t clad yet.
I found this from last month regarding T6 - a sizable collection of interior photos are provided.
The PANYNJ has a nice update on the happenings at JFK
