Good article posted above in the Tribeca Citizen. I read the comment section too… 
Some “person” posted this comment that resonated with me about the whole NIMBY phenomenon.

Personally, I had once taken a lead role in the “community” opposition to a new condo development in SoHo going next door to where I lived at the time: this comment (I must admit) rings true. 
It would be interesting to dig-up the records on that whole “community” protest - for lack of interest it will remain in the dust bin of history.
