The revised one looks like a bird flew into it and dented it

great improvement
I can see the value the accountants provided here :+1:

I’m still waiting until a winner is officially announced, although I like the revised version better. Let’s see how the later renderings show the complete tower (also with better resolution).

Why does it take so long for them to announce a winner? But this does not mean that construction will start soon afterwards. I just hope the RFP doesn’t get cancelled again.

To what extent would it be possible to see the Vessel sculpture from the lower floors?

Could it be that the base of the revised Affirmation Tower design covers the entire site?
Then the tower might not have such a narrow base.

Compared to the variety of styles in midtown, Hudson Yards is cold and sterile. And for me it’s no better up close on the plaza. Just big boring glass behemoths with no great architectural panache. Huge missed opportunity to make a great, livable, attractive, urban environment.

Not much different from my previous photo.

Inside there is a large cantilevered platform that had to be installed to allow workers to reconfigure the upper floor edge of the Wells Fargo floor that extends into the atrium because it will be enclosed from the rest of the mall atrium for fire separation purposes.

can anyone tell me why they don’t remove all the wooden post from the water after they get rid of the pier? is it like just in case they put a new pier there or smth?

It is difficult to remove them without distrubing the aquatic life and environment so they were intentionally left to act as sea habitats.

From the other direction

The platform in the mall atrium at L5 has also begun to be disassembled, revealing the extended L5 floor plate and fire partition wall.

Also, the pink tree sculpture has been removed awaiting the arrival of the pigeon replacement.

Couldn’t get any photos myself, but the huge pigeon statue has replaced the red tree on the high line. Lots of photos online.
