I love the scale of this project and the site planning for the most part feels right, but the architecture could really use a little something extra.
if youre buidling this development from scratch why dont they just build curb extensons instead of painting the road (referring to 2nd pic)
My educated guess is that this Luquer St extension, being a city street and not privately owned, adheres to DOT specifications, and for whatever reason, including minimum turning radius for max scaled vehicle types and/or fire and emergency egress amongst others, a bulbout was not permitted here.

Seems like it was always going to be heavy on the pavement side, compared to the other developments. SCAPE has done a great job with others, hopefully this one hasn’t been VE’d too badly.
The optics are bad but the park will be fine.
I think the slab is only there for structure and drainage.
