350 Park Ave is 1576’, so it would be 3rd, though 175 Park’s real height at the moment is 1566’, so I guess it would still be second actually.
NYGuy said this isn’t accurate.
“That’s just the height of the drawings in the graphics. None of these numbers are final, but the 1,586 is as close to specific as we have at the time. The number will change, that’s why they keep saying about 1,600 ft. Trying to pin it to a specific number at this time is useless. What I can tell you is that 175 and 350 are so close in height that any fluctuations will determine which is taller. At this point it’s both too early and too close to call.”
The Tower Fifth proposal is defunct. It’s not happening.
Thats not entirely accurate either. Its not untrue that the numbers won’t continue to change until the final ULURP amendment is issued, but at the present time, as I mentioned on the 350 thread, the 1586’ figure is only the figure of the maximum envelope, not the building, which in that same WIP ULURP drawing set, is really 1576’. The building will not be the same height of the maximum envelope height, nor is it good precedent for people to use that figure as the final figure.
The Affirmation Tower would have fit in well.
The future list of trophy towers:
175 Park Ave.
350 Park Ave.
405 Park Ave.?
343 Madison Ave.
625 Madison Ave.
45 East 45th Street
57th Street Corridor.
Hudson Yards? If they don’t get a license I think it’s a done deal.
Supertall in Queens when?
never, unless the FAA relents. Developers in Long Island City tried but were denied.
one can only dream of a Zaha Hadid supertall in LIC
You guys think Brooklyn will get another supertall?
I’m thinking of 395 Flatbush Avenue
Potential to supertall in Brooklyn
honestly hope not, I feel like the BK tower compliments the skyline perfectly
I thought Zaha died some years ago…
Stagnancy is antithesis of NYC. I’m sure someone had that same idea when the ESB was constructed…hoping for more supertalls in Brooklyn!
she has, but her architecture still lives on. they mainly work in Asia as of right now
well yeah but most of the new buildings end up being bland. Brooklyn has some promise though. wish LIC had a trophy tower or just any diversity lol
