Does anyone have any news on the status of the observation deck?
The Chrysler Building should become condos and a hotel. It’s an iconic building, but as an office, it’s Class C.
Am in love with those images!
Glad you like them! ![]()

They are great! They have a sense of nostalgia for me; the color and light have this old New York feel.
Every time I see this building driving across the 59th Street Bridge I smile. What a great piece of architecture.

A quick look suggests a large fraction of the space is vacant.
I know the plumbing/wet wall configuration isn’t conducive to a resi/hotel conversion, but that’s the only way I can see this building getting close to fully utilized again. The floor plans show lots of interior columns and antiquated features like ‘fan rooms’ and mechanical rooms. Its floor to floor height is more like a modern residential building anyway.
Yes, the images are a bit nostalgic similar to my digitized NY DIAs from the 40s and 50s.
This is really cool, thanks. I knew that the spire was kept a secret but didn’t know how the clandestine construction of it was accomplished.
