Aside from the upper floor glass (which looks pretty good so far), none of the stuff we are seeing will be the final facade - it appears that all this stuff going up will eventually be covered with some other more normal looking facade (hopefully).

hopefully that isnt that flammable stuff they used in other parts of the world to cut costs.

Most places in the US use the same standard building/fire codes, but NYC has its own stricter set. And US building/fire codes in general are much stricter than the UK’s.

what the hell is going on with the facade of this building! so much work to make it look like crap, just put some bland glass up and be done with it! it looks like infill for the new york new york casino in vegas!

Quick snap from Queensboro Plaza. It looks nice. Wish they didn’t give it a haircut on the top. Looks like it was supposed to represent the split in the tracks between the 7 and N/W.

Eh it’s been value engineered to Hell. The previous design for the top portion was more interesting.
