Just checked out naftali’s website.. and they seem to have a very nice architectural profile

I would bet it’ll be another RAMSA Tower, directly infront of Central Park! Right next to the Pierre and Sherry Netherland, it’ll be nice to get something that pays them homage.

It never really made sense to expect a “tall” project here, though its not unheard of, its very infrequent that tall buildings are built in historic landmarked districts. That’s why this had a landmarks committee meeting, because there’s lots of regulations for constructions in historic districts.

And you may wonder why a project like 655 Madison “can” be super tall, it’s because its not in the historic district (neither is 520 Park), none of the recent RAMSA projects in the UES are in the historic district, that’s why they’re taller than the surrounding buildings, because they can be.
