To be fair—and far be it from me to put words in mouths—I believe he was referring to how quickly construction was rising, as if at a runner’s pace :slight_smile: BTW, when I first saw the renders on the article here, I could’ve sworn the crown was red. Was there a design change, phantom or otherwise?

That was lighting, but the design very very slightly changed, so the lighting may not be there anymore, to be seen whenever closer to completion.

Looking sharp indeed. I just wish it would have blocked that tower in dead-center view. The way the fenestration and striping is shunted ever-so-slightly to the right has always disturbed me a lot...And I don’t have OCD…
…At least I don’t think I do.

Yeah, the W is no masterpiece.

I don’t know if zoning would allow it, but I’d love to see the horrendous base of the Downtown Marriott across the street sprout a tower redevelopment. That would have the double benefit of replacing an ugly brick blob with a beautiful tower AND obscure the W from the west.
