NEW YORK | 660 5th Avenue | 485 FT | 39 FLOORS (Renovation)

Are you involved with the project? Hopefully, it’s a nice reskin and not a half-assed one. I think that the Time-Life reskin on 6th sucks. They kept the heinous concrete on the exterior.

Horrible. I want the Hadid tower. Polishing a turd, a la MSG.

And as with MSG, hopefully, a decade from now, this dump will be demolished.

The current facade looks a lot better than what they have rendered!

Agree completely especially about MSG.

A renovation can’t increase the ceiling heights or make the offices column-free.

Hearing about the Kushners and Dolans on a bread line after losing everything would have brought a smile to my face, but as MLK said “We all too often have socialism for the rich and rugged free market capitalism for the poor. ”

Wow. No supertall. How disappointing

Totally! , the least they could have done was unify the street level retail facade so its not so lopsided towards uniqlo.

This piece of trash should retain the Number of the Beast as an address. It’s a bit of Hell in NYC.

So what are they doing, they should build a super tall here that would cool

hopefully they’ll cut back on the extent of the renovation so it gets replaced sooner rather than later!

Maybe an underground Satanic cult will lease it and then burn it down.

Reskinning already underway here— looks fancy, not ‘cheap’ stuff like 330 Madison

This may be an unpopular opinion but I prefer the current stamped aluminum cladding to the generic glass that’s going up. Of course, I’d still prefer if the whole thing was knocked down and the massing restacked into a supertall.

I agree, it is just going to be another glass box in a sea of glass boxes.

Yeah I don’t think that viewpoint is unpopular at all on the forums… this building looks better as it currently is

While the old façade was more interesting I imagine the tenants of this building will appreciate working in an environment with more natural light.

I hope that the redevelopment of the Rolex building across the street proceeds. This area will really start to shimmer between 660 Fifth and the new Rolex.

Its too bad the discarded aluminum panels aren’t for sale anywhere! could make a nice piece of art for a garage or something…
