This is now about 2 floors above street level and seems in full swing with construction crews.

In recent weeks it’s gone up one floor per week.

every time i see these colorful membranes i wish just once that the facade would match! why can’t we have a bright purple or teal building? would be so fun

This one looks great.

Yes, this is something special. I think this will be a particularly impressive ‘stand out’ work of ARTFUL architecture in this area: the Murry Hill/Kips bAy area has a lot of generic looking architecture.

So good to see ‘something special’ - most of what goes up is ‘good enough’, generic, or ‘building standard’ IMHO - so this one is pure eye candy.

I like the shape and balcony configuration. I hope the facade works out well. The renders show a mix of dark brick and barn red. That could be great, but I’ll wait and see,

Now we just need those two sets of dilapidated garbage on either side to go.

I am liking all the dark colored brick I am seeing lately: so this may look even more ‘special’ when done. The ‘red’ brick park seems a bit odd - but we will see. So far this looks like Architecture with a Capital “A”.

This one near broadway & 61St street comes to mind: black brick…

And the one downtown with the nicely treed courtyard. I like that one too.
