Nice project, huge upgrade for the area.
Great to see another rounded corner building going up in this area.
Home Office Hot spots?
This sounds like an interesting ‘design feature’ - but not quite sure how this “hot spot” functions. I like the design approach of Form-follows-function: but not sure what the FUNCTION is here on the floor plan for each of the apartments.
Excerpt from Cityrealty.com article -
To accommodate what could have been a long-term obstacle to working in a company office space, we developed a plan to include a home office hot spot in every unit in the building. This amenity would empower any resident to work from their home either part- or full-time.
Mentioned in the article, its just an extra room that can be used for an office, most likely just has a built in space/system for internet accessibility in the room. I wouldnt consider it a design feature since it’s really just a spare room.
Mr. Zhao notes that the design, initiated during the pandemic, incorporates a home office hot spot in every unit, anticipating the shift towards remote work. This also allows for the option of a reading nook, meditation spot, home gym, nursery, or other bonus room for those who cannot work from home or choose not to.
Thanks…
Nice idea. I guess at some point we will see floor plans. I am thinking it is going to be something like the size of a ‘walk-in’ closet. This sort of “hot spot” thing is better than using a space in the corner of a bed room, or living room: so seems like a good feature to add to the floor plan.
Honestly, I still don’t quite understand what it is - but once the floor plans are eventually posted the full story will be revealed for all to see, and understand…
This is what is typically done: a separate ‘room’ would be better -
I walk pass this site very often. A great spot for this building.
