I’m looking forward to interior shots. His Cape Town project looked great:

This building is really cool in person. The windows are cool af. A lot of people were taking pics:
Yesterday
I noticed that each of the large windows are actually cut in half by 2 floors. Would have been cool if they allowed some for double height ceilings to give a full bubble per floor. Or at least the corner bubble windows be double height interior floors. Still looking better and better each time I visit.
I love these buildings.
It is likely that there are some penthouse or duplex apartments that have their own full height bubble (lantern) but those apartments would need about 18 foot high ceilings: which can, and often is, done. I hear people often refer to the windows as ‘bubbles’. I am guessing that the rather odd name ‘lantern house’ was chosen as an attempt to keep this building from being called the “bubble wrap building” - not very flattering. The “Lantern House” has the more regal associations preferred for marketing purposes. That is only prognostication on my part; but ‘bubble wrap building’ sure is a lot more fun to say.

I like that lobby desk.
A lot of these High Line designs are amazing! They should do supertalls with these kinds of designs
Yup, the High Line area could definitely use some extra height.
These came out fantastic. They are very eye-catching as you are walking past on the HL.
These buildings and BIG’s next door look great.
I actually like the scale of the Highline. Not really tall buildings, but still an architectural canyon. In a way it’s like a living art exhibit. It’s also a nice lead up to HY.
The highline is totally a showcase for starchitects. My favorite is still Zaha Hadids. We’ll see how I feel when the Xi is finished. If it ever finishes.
