NEW YORK | 50 West 66th St | 775 FT | 70 FLOORS

The mechanical penthouse structure and the cooling towers are visible from afar, that’s why the building had a topping out ceremony, even though the crown structure extends several feet past the mech penthouse. The top of it should reach a few feet under the cab of the crane.

The first pieces of bronze-tone metal cladding have gone up on the northwest corner of the tower portion. Looking pretty great!

Such a nice way of “disguising” the louvers for the mechanical floors, it’s very thoughtful. I would like to see a section cut through them though just to see how they work.

Crown structure finally visible, that’s going to catch the sun nicely.

And it looks as if the core will actually not be poking out of the parapet like many other projects! Huzzah!

The core won’t but the BMU probably will.

Hopefully they have it hide in the crown like Cira Center in Philly. But if anything it’ll probably turn out like the tops of 10 and 30 HY

Great shots as always!

I was there a few hours earlier- didn’t get the good sunset colors though…
