NEW YORK | 495 11th Avenue | 680 FT + 653 FT | 57 + 56 FLOORS

Eventually it will be blocked on all sides but the river, though.

Javits will eventually be gone and redeveloped, and the rest of Hudson Yards will be filled in. So will probably have taller towers on three sides.

WTF is this garbage. We went from a decent design to a big brown turd.

In the words of Rich Evan’s from Red Letter Media, “Oh my gooooooooooooooood” I have not tracked this at all but I just saw the rendering above of the towers next to the Silver Towers. This project and Tower Fifth should never even hit the planning stages, absolutely horrible

What’s good with that crown though. Like why?

The crown is a clean energy farm. Solar and wind power and rainwater collection. The facade, though ugly, is highly effective at regulating temperature. Passivehaus is all about getting off the grid as much as possible. A lot of new buildings, particularly new housing in the Bronx, utilize this design principle.

What is that waterslide on top supposed to be? This is so ugly I am speechless. Any ideas as to what we, as a group, can do to voice our opposition to this travesty? I know we are small in numbers, but I’ll bet we can be vocal!

I guess the only way to profitably build affordable housing is to cut corners on the architect and building materials

But I like the idea of high rise affordable housing, maybe a reason to expand the skyline to the Bronx and outer Queens

Phew, well that looks much better than that update we got in 2019. Less glass is a nice touch too

This is so much better than the proposal with the barbed wire on top and the other nuclear silo design

That bus depot to the north is hideous and will be a blight on the Hudson Yards/Boulevard neighborhood when it’s all built out. I recall there was a plan to relocate it years ago, back when the Richard Rogers Javits expansion plan was still on the table. It’s certainly prime real estate.
