Not to be a downer but I highly doubt this will look anything like those cool renders.
It will look ‘cool’ enough to achieve the intended outcome. The vast majority of the public will look up and say “what a cool looking building - I like it” and then move on to their next destination. That is a lovely thing to happen when walking the streets of NYC; they deserve credit for designing something more than a generic building.
The completed building will definitely not look as attractive as those renderings posted above, as is usually the case, so you are totally right - nothing ‘Debbie Downer’ about that at all…

Seems like it is rising much faster now that they passed the base a while back. Plus you can see the jagged/irregular pattern that the facade will take.
