All quiet on the Crowne Plaza Hotel construction site

Posted on September 10, 2014 by CtSqLIC

Everything has gone quiet at the corner of Crescent Street and 42nd Road, which is supposed to be the future site of a Crowne Plaza Hotel in early 2016. Demolition on the site wrapped up in late spring, and since then, we haven’t seen any activity on the site. As you can see in the photos below, grass has actually grown on the site because of the inactivity.

Here are the details on the building courtesy of Queens Brownstoner:

The 11-story hotel will have 224 rooms, banquet facilities, a conference center, a rooftop bar and a “grand ballroom” for as many as 300 guests. The ground floor will also hold a restaurant, bar and lounge area, a banquet hall and an outdoor eatery. Royal Hotels and Resorts is behind the development.

there was some activity on site the other day here. There were a few excavators moving around with a security guard at the entrance on crescent. It is tough getting pics around most of the site due to the construction fence with no windows, but i was able to take this from 27th looking towards crescent since the lot is a weird shape.
