Looks like the facade of the old building may be preserved.
Some commenters on YIMBY are saying it may be too fragile to be saved.

I dont think they wouldve spent the time to try and brace it while removing all the original structure if they werent intending on repurposing the facade, things like that (the condition of the bricks and relevant things being preserved) are investigated into well in advance of demolition, and the bricks are repointed where necessary.
It probably wont be cleaned until the building is well under construction, and we probably wont see any of this work because it will be covered in scaffolding, but it’s definitely a fascinating process. But generally just because something looks damaged/degraded on the outside doesn’t always mean that it isn’t sounds anymore.

The city needs to do more facade preservation like this.
I definitely agree with that, just dont do it with Gene Kaufman or Peter Poon…
Or at least keep a street wall.
