2nd photo, that is a very strange way to finish those open spaces. Looks like they forgot to finish the grey vertical trim.
This is a nice building and a massive improvement over what was there. This part of Fifth still has some garbage.
I’ve always thought the same–especially since in cut-out portions towards the top the vertical bands are left uninterrupted.

This is honestly one of my favorite buildings, like ever. It’s gorgeous and so simple and sleek. Wish more stuff went up like this
A few weeks ago on Million Dollar Listing NY Ryan Serhant viewed 2 apartments in this building for a client. The views are epic.

Great video here - thanks. I think the architectural design is fine: not quite capital “A” architecture - but close.
One odd feature is the “missing” piece on the mid height terraces - seem simply a quirky detail.
I suspect this was a decision made late in the design development stage (or construction) when it was determined that the added vertical member blocked too much of the view when standing on the terrace. Pure speculation on my part; but that bad detail needs some logical explanation.
See a good look at how odd it look at 1:05 in the video - shows an drone view of the exterior.
Other than that minor fault; this turned out nice.
This block was disgusting.
