Big grow spurt:

This corner by LIU is becoming a great place to watch Brooklyn rise:

Work was paused on this one for about a week and a half (last concrete pour on 10/03) but they’re back on site this morning. By my count, 3/5 of the structure (the closer part) is 12 floors from topping out, and the other 2/5 (the further part) is 5 floors from topping out. Apologies for the reflection, this is through a window.

This is partially topped out. On two of the towers, they’ve finished pouring all levels and the concrete boxes for the mechanical equipment at the top. On the other three towers, they’re ready to pour the roof.

You can also see what now looks like the finished facade on the very top of the building, as well as part of the podium.

Wow I didn’t realize how much more finished it looks on that side!

All topped out (although I can’t see a flag). Facade work is nearing completion on the Flatbush side. Scaffolding is coming down this week to reveal it.

I wasn’t expecting curved glass

I don’t mind the aesthetics of the curved glass, but I do question the practicality of the balconies at least on the Flatbush Ave side. I’d like to get the hearing checked of anyone who’s stood on Flatbush and Willoughby for any amount of time and thought, “this is the soundtrack I want to my cup of morning coffee on my balcony.”

I’m not certain, but it looks they might have more balcony density on the Fleet Place side, which would make sense to your point.

The upper half of the building (facing east) should have a nice little view of Fort Greene Park.

Yuck.

has a Canadian look to it, would’ve fit in better in LIC compared to Downtown Brooklyn.

I can’t say I like it. And it being setback from that skinny newish construction tumor on the corner is just piss poor all around. Would have been an excellent spot for a truly impressive building, and this isn’t it. Too bad.

Not a fan of this one. And the sliver corner holdout makes it even more perplexing.
