well there are two spine girders that run from madison to park. each one is about 400’ long and i think they weight about 1200 tons each. probably more than that…

foundations are almost done on the whole east side of the job
Please tell me more. I’m not up to date on that aspect of the construction.
Why can’t you see train tracks like when the old 270 Park Ave. towers were built?

In the next month or so the park ave side should be done and pretty soon we’ll see this tower going vertical
because the first floor slab is left intact. the photo you posted is a lower elevation…

Can somebody please explain the process they’ve gone through of doing the foundation work while simultaneously tearing down the old building? Did they use existing foundation, did they “secretly” make a new one, was David Copperfield involved?
