I wonder when the rest of the building will be torn down. I would think a week or two
Means we could see a render very soon

And welcome Jeffrey!
Its really easy to see how big this site is with the old tower practically gone… its also pretty crazy to think that 277 park will be dwarfed in every way
I always thought of 277 and 270 Park as looking like a couple, to be honest. I’ve still got a huge soft spot for 277 though.
Got a link to that webcam?
What’s the link for the webcam?
Interesting that these renders still display the asymmetric 270 design
comparing this demolition to penn station is a farce.
Amen to that.
It would be an apt comparison if the current Penn Station was demolished.
It will be interesting to watch the second half catch up to the first.
No, it’s not on the level of Penn Station but the old building was an architectural gem that should have been landmarked, not demolished. JPMC are utter philistines for knocking down one of the nicest International Style skyscrapers in the world when the site is surrounded by dreck they could have purchased and razed instead. But that’s the NYC way, right? Lose the gems, keep the junk.
The new building will be nice, but in terms of architectural preservation and environmental concerns, I’m confident history will NOT view this demolition as a good thing.
