Reminds me a bit of the base at 2 Manhattan West…It also has massive pieces of steel though this one outdoes it.

half the steel weight of 2manhattan west tower is in the first three floors of this building.

JRF, will the absolute top of JPMC’s new HQ be 1,388’ tall or is that just the highest occupied floor? The tower seems taller than 1,388 to the parapet?

I see a DOB notice, is that a rendering posted on the fence?

They work here all weekend, it’s pretty crazy. I guess Dimon wants this done sooner rather than later

there is about 2x the amount of work going on below ground than above ground. its extremely complex underground due to neighboring ESA work and MTA work within the train shed.

its kind of crazy to see.

Static drawing of 270 Park Ave. from SSC

Wind bracing from the old Humboldt Savings Bank Building in San Francisco (table bracing).

The columns that stand so far must become the legs of the table. We’ll see the same thing at the Grand Hyatt Tower.

I wonder if this will have direct access to Grand Central hallways?

The old one kinda did via the 47th street passage but yeah hopefully they’ll improve that whole subterranean level!

part of the deal is that they tie in access to ESA and GST and JPMC pays for part of it. A la 1Vandy

Is that a new tower crane for the new tower?

Unbelievable to see the old tower almost completely eradicated. Reminds me of Robert Stern’s quip about being able to tear down modern buildings with a can opener.

It’s the tower crane that was used for the demo.
