It’s shocking to me how no one on here got photos of it yet

If this can light up in different colors, it might give the ESB and Vanderbilt a run for their money.

The lights are often tested late at night which kind of provides an explanation as to why nobody has got any good nighttime shots of it.

The following photos show the white LEDs illuminated along the perimeter columns and signature diagrid pattern on the tower’s third tier, where the amenity levels will be located. The final two tiers remain dark, but will eventually be covered in an assembly of color LEDs that will enable the display of moving visualizations, much like the crown fins of Foster + Partners’ 425 Park Avenue. Overall, the façade will incorporate some 20,000 LED lights supplied by FSG in collaboration with Montreal-based lighting manufacturer GKV.

It’s great to see them testing but there are some segments in the test areas that do not light. I sure hope that can be fixed.

The lighting on this one is gonna be immaculate

These pictures are divine. This building, by far, will have the most epic lighting in the city. The diamonds aren’t even washed out by the bright interior lighting. It’s perfect. Once those colour LEDs are enabled, this might even trump the ESB’s lighting.

The critics on the YIMBY page have no taste.

The front lighting should have a slightly warmer color and then it’s perfect

The ESB is starting to get nervous slowly lol…

Maybe it’s too early to tell, but I really don’t think these lights look that good

Plus taste is subjective.

They began testing the fourth tier an hour ago

Nice catch. This brings up an interesting detail I haven’t considered. The top two tier diamonds will look like an x-ray inverse version of the lower tiers since the lights behind them will be way brighter.

It also looks like they are testing the diamond lighting on the 5th tier.

Looks like the top diamond is also lit.

A closer (but blurry) view of the top lights from the cam on 1 Vanderbilt:

It’s bright enough to be visible through low clouds.
