Not the easiest to capture on a cell phone camera but the lights look incredibly bright from Jersey!
It’s great that they don’t get drowned out by the interior lights. I wonder if they’re also testing the side facing Central Park. There’s no cams that let us see that side, sadly.
Ok they are testing again and this time the midtown cam is facing the right direction. They are bright…like on the level of the beacon on 1VB.
Well here’s what I saw with the W/Element Hotel in Philadelphia while they were finishing up construction on the tower.
Notice how powerful they are…yet they aren’t like that today. They did that because of (I presume) the bird safety program in Philadelphia. Truthfully I don’t like that movement because it diminished the popping of the Philadelphia skyline during certain months through the year. I absolutely understand why they made that choice…but come on. More cities have lighting more worse in terms of light pollution…especially NYC at night with the theme of a skyline with an eye catching glow…every night! I did see that it was mentioned that the lights will be dimmed, and I honestly do NOT doubt that. Or they could just not turn it on (shout out to the 57th Street towers including One 57)
These are from last Sunday, a lot of the exterior mullion caps on the lobby have begun to be installed.
Also, they did not replace the discolored panel
Building diagrid and frame is almost completely clad.
Great shots! And do you plan on making a timelapse of your shots from The Edge? If not I can help
I already have just very hastily
Wow I’m clearly paying attention lol. There’s just so many projects I track that I’m losing track
i love the gold and blue contrast from the lights
They’re testing the 2nd highest tier. For a while the middle sections have been tested, but now they’re almost to the top section.
Unrelated, but visible is that it seems like there’s been a partial restoration of CPT’s crown lights and some mechanical floor lights.
Very Bernice Abbott!
Not sure if this has been posted here yet, but the main Wikipedia page for this building has been updated with a nice shot from March 2025!
