Always a sucker for shots that are composed to have tiny humans on large objects. The scale is incredible.
Still mad I missed that photo op of the trade assembly last year.
for real
Fantastic shot!!
Ok final update from today/Sunday, small portion of the crane mast and the base is left but it is virtually gone from view from Edge. Can’t wait for the north construction elevator to be dismantled.
Lots of progress on the Madison Ave side in terms of support structure. Will be more interested when the cladding starts to be put up.
Some of the tabletop louvers awaiting installation
Misc
A portion of 47th St has been poured
Details of the interior stone cladding, lights, and vestibule steel of the southern entrance.
Cab/rig and mast pieces waiting to leave.
Great update @TKDV and thanks for the photos from The Edge. I had planned on going there but I prefer the views of 270 from the ESB.

Skylift At Top of The Rock Opens At 30 Rockefeller Center in Midtown, Manhattan - New York YIMBY
They’ve started cladding some of the lobby’s interior steel beams (I think that’s what it’s called). At this rate, is it possible that they complete all lobby work by the end of this year?
I think this has been asked before, but what prevents those round “louvers” ( the ones on the North and South facades which are less sharply angled) from being ideal nesting places for various flying animals? Do we think they’ll be covered with some kind of screen/mesh or just left open like that?
I dont think there is a problem for the louvers on the W/E sides since they are significantly sloped and will be blowing out exhaust from the equipment inside the tabletop mech level, but I am unsure of the N/S ones, there “is” a mesh at the back end of the cylinder opening but some of the louvers are not real so there will be no exhaust coming out of them to deter birds from nesting. But they could be preventing this with a different nonvisible creative solution.
Depending on the composition of the exhaust (this is an all electric building, so probably just air or steam) it might provide a nice warm environment rather than a deterrent. Here’s hoping there is a nonvisible creative solution in play. I’m sure JP Morgan doesn’t want people to have to exit the building with an umbrella.
