They seem to be installing platforms across the entire floor of trading floors. Do they just do this so they can easily run wires throughout?

The boom may still be on the ground waiting to be disassembled, I will take some pics if I do see it still, I was able to see some of the mast pieces and jumping portions last week before they were hauled away.

They look small on the image but they were very large in person.
